About

Mara ImageMy name is Mara Dower and I’m a proud mother of a beautiful daughter named Kiannah. I had a home-water birth back in 2005 – which was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever encountered. Having it at home made it even more special. I had an amazing and easy pregnancy with only a sciatic back-ache that lasted one week, and an easy labour of approx 6 hours. It couldn’t have been more perfect. It might have been ‘luck’ but I feel that my background, knowledge and preparation assisted with my easy pregnancy and labour. To give you a bit of background, I gained a BA in Public Relations/Communications and Marketing and worked in the corporate sector for about 10 years. Just after I turned 30, I felt like I went through a mid-life crisis – feeling like there must be more to life than just getting up, going to work in an office and coming home (with a few activities in between). So I went on a soul-searching quest and came across a lifestyle course called Landmark Education. After having done a few of their courses, I decided it was time to change careers.

So for the next couple of years, I decided to study Shiatsu Japanese Massage. I also studied in that time Reiki, aromatherapy and various other holistic massage courses (whilst still working in the corporate sector). What I worked out during these times that these courses were not about learning to heal others but really looking at ways to heal myself.

Near the completion of my Shiatsu Diploma, I took on another lifestyle course called Creating Lifestyle Transformation and that lead me to other body management courses relating to scoliosis, energetics, shamanic practices, body balancing, and other forms of energy work. That path then lead me to do an instructor’s course in lifestyle coaching which I have been running now for the past 3 years. My lifestyle course can be viewed at www.born2rock.com.au.

So now, I am combining the two areas that I’m passionate about – using self empowerment, lifestyle skills and holistic practices to assist women during pregnancy and through their birthing journey.

Loretta Anderson @ 2:12 am:

Hi Mara,

My name is Loretta, I’m from north Brisbane and I have an ebook similar to yours. I am a mum of two boys, a midwife and a Lactation consultant and I too am disillusioned by the whole birthing process in Australia. I was inspired to write an ebook following the birth of my second son. I was due to go back to work and really didn’t want to leave my son so I sought out other ways to make an income from home. This is where I heard about ebooks. I have been to many internet marketing seminars and loved what it could do for my life and for the life of women everywhere.

I have contacted you as I believe women in this business should really network and create a group to bounce off ideas. My ebook is really similar to yours. I have interviewed 7 experts from around the world on different methods of natural birthing, you can have a look at my site, www.child-birth-options.com. I have also got a blog which helps me drive traffic to the site it is www.naturalbirthplan.com. We also have the same sort of bonuses as well.

How are you going with it all? I am slowly building up sales, I think the biggest thing is driving traffic or finding someone with a big list to help distribute it. I am building a great following to my blog and this is where most of my sales are coming from.

I would love you to check out my product and let me know what you think. Maybe we could chat sometime about our internet marketing businesses.

I am also planning to start my own business in antenatal education where I can teach women what it really takes to have a natural childbirth.

Anyway, time to get back to my kids…..it never ends!! I hope to hear from you and hope your ebook is doing really well. Great work!

Kind regards,
Loretta Anderson
